This blogging thing is new to me. Of course I know about blogs, I’ve wondered about blogs, and I’ve read blogs. I wish I would have started reading them sooner, though. Who knew I could get to know little snippets of so many people I’ve never met, just through their words? It’s so cool — like thinking back to being a little girl at Disneyland. At Tomorrow Land, there was a “house of the future” or something like that. I remember that in the future you would be able to talk face-to-face with someone over the phone. It seemed impossible, but poof! Now I’m grown up and skyping my son in Flagstaff, and my brother in Japan, and my other brother in Hawaii. It is SO cool. And how cool is it that blogging allows people the world over to drop in on each other and share a laugh or a tear, even when they’ve never met?
Today I came across this blog — it was a featured post on WordPress, so a ton of people probably came across it. It was about “playing nice in the blogosphere.” Being a blogging newbie, I checked it out because I am always looking for tips from the more experienced (because I still don’t know what I’m doing). The post was informative and funny. It made me want to explore the blog, so I clicked on another post. Oh my gosh. It was 6:30 a.m., and I was lying in bed laughing so hard I had tears. What a way to start the day!
All day, I’ve had little burbles of laughter whenever the “junk jiggle” comes to mind (read the post). I’m cracking up now, as a matter of fact — eight hours later. I think it’s amazing that someone who’s not on TV or in the movies, someone who is not in the business of getting laughs — someone I don’t even know — has given me a laugh that has lasted all day long. Thank you, Miss Demure Restraint. I have no doubts that the next time I see the junk jiggle in person I will not be able to control myself…oh, my poor husband!
